LEARNING OBJECTIVE

We’ve partnered with Leigh McKay of Work Wise Wellness to deliver this course for our network.

The workplace positions us to encourage wellbeing and positive mental health. Being a specialist in mental health or having therapist and counsellor qualifications is NOT expected, however, being able to recognise early signs of distress and signpost to appropriate support can be very helpful. Further your understanding of this vast topic of Mental Health, how to recognise signs of ill mental health, have practical guidance to underpin a conversation to support and signpost someone confidently, whilst managing your own wellbeing.

AGENDA

• The importance of being able to discuss Mental Health as a topic.
• What is an inclusive Mental Health culture? How can we create an environment whereby everyone feels comfortable to discuss this topic?
• A closer look at some of the mental health illnesses specifically anxiety and depression.
• How exactly do we start a conversation on this topic? Using everyday management procedures to encourage MH communication.
• How can I signpost and support?
• My Wellbeing Action Plan: Looking after ourselves, so that you can support others is crucial. Develop an action plan to prioritise our own health and wellbeing.
