In December 2021 an independent review creating a new ‘Gold Standard’ for public sector construction frameworks was published by Cabinet Office. Government will now utilise the review’s findings and begin working with the construction industry to achieve ‘better, faster, safer and greener outcomes’ from publicly appointed contracts.  You can read the full report here.

At SEC we’ve been involved in conversations with David Mosey, the report’s writer, during his research and we welcome his push for the ‘gold standard’. It’s something close to the heart of our business and we’re passionate about procuring frameworks which truly work for you and your organisations.

The paper presents 24 recommendations for producing ‘gold standard’ construction frameworks. We’ve read the report in full and are already reviewing how we can improve our service offering based on their principles. We’re committed to working through the Standard in detail, understanding what it means for SEC and continuously raising the bar.

We’ll be producing advice and guidance for our customers as we strive for gold – watch this space.

We understand that this year our sector will undergo many changes – the Building Safety Bill, Procurement Reform and the Gold Standard report to name only a few!  You won’t be alone in thinking that it’s a lot of information to process. We’ll be on hand to cut through the noise and support Members with the changes.
