We’re delighted to confirm that SEC has joined the group supporting HACT’s pioneering social value roadmap. The roadmap was launched in September 2020. It’s been developed by a taskforce made up of organisations form across the sector and will enable users to utilise social value information to improve services, enhance decision making and increase the impact we make.

Social Value is close to the hearts of our Members and important to the procurement projects we support them with. By joining HACT’s workgroup we’ll be able to bring their perspectives to the table and demonstrate a commitment to making a positive difference to the communities which we serve.

SEC exists to support the sector we love – social housing. So, as you can imagine the social value [generated] through public procurement is incredibly important to our Members.
Teaming up with HACT to shape the social value roadmap ahead is something we’ll ask all of our Members to get involved in. Through our partnership they’ll be able to influence the project ahead. Our relationship with HACT will help us to better advise and support customers who ask how they can get more social benefit through our frameworks and services. This partnership will also help is to deliver our key strategic priorities which were designed by our Members.

Marc Baines, Managing Director, SEC

The social value roadmap is an opportunity for pioneering, innovative and forward-thinking organisations to be at the forefront of social value measurement and implementation, particularly around environmental sustainability and the zero-carbon agenda.
By signing up to invest in and collaborate on the development of the roadmap, South East Consortium have demonstrated their commitment to social investment in affordable housing, cross-tenure developments and measuring the social value of the building lifecycle.
As an investor in the project, SEC will be able to participate in the roadmap's working groups, creating tools and use cases that improve decision-making for procurement and drawing on best practice and learning from other leading proponents of social value within the social housing sector.
We look forward to working with them as well as any of their members who wish to invest in the social value roadmap.
