This Fire Consultancy Lot gives customers compliant access to a comprehensive list of highly qualified and experienced fire safety consultants to conduct Compartmentation Surveys, Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), Fire Door Inspections and Asset Tagging.
Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs)
FRAs will be carried out by individuals who have demonstrated to a certification body running a UKAS accredited ‘Competent Persons’ scheme to EN ISO 17024:2012 (Personnel) that they are competent and who work for a company operating a company based ‘Competent Person’ scheme certificated against BS EN 17065:2012 by a certification body accredited by UKAS Certification).
FRA’s will include all areas of the internal and external routes and may include common areas, riser ducts, common loft spaces and ventilation shafts. This will also take into account fire alarm and detection systems, emergency lighting, fire-fighting equipment and signage of the properties in question.
Compartmentation Surveys will be carried out by individuals who can demonstrate that they are competent through sufficient training and experience in undertaking the preventive and protective measures. Surveys will involve a detailed intrusive inspection (separate to an FRA) of the varying fire compartmentation elements of buildings; and preparation of a report that is designed to address the specific fire compartmentation issues, including deficiencies, the requirements to rectify in priority order and estimated costs.
Compartmentation Surveys shall include as a minimum an inspection of the following:
- Roof Voids – inside the void and the access hatch
- Above Ceiling Tiles (as applicable)
- Riser Cupboards
- All Communal Area Doors
- As many flat doors as possible
- Inside flats
- Roof Void – check inside and the access hatch
- Bathroom – soil waste pipes and vents
- Kitchen – pipes and vents
- Any service cupboards inside the flats as well as communal areas
- asset-tagging of all breaches,
- details of required remedial works (including dimensions and materials)
- an indicative remedial works specification to address the identified actions.
Fire Door Inspections
Fire door Inspections will be carried out by individuals who have obtained official qualification and accreditation in both the FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme) diploma and the FDIS certified inspector.
Asset Tagging will be required with access for Clients via a portal or interface with their own internal IT systems.
