Russet

In 1991 the housing stock formerly owned by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council was subject to a large scale voluntary transfer to our predecessor Tonbridge and Malling Housing Association. Formed in 2005, Russet is the largest provider of social housing within Tonbridge and Malling, owning and managing over 6,600 properties, ranging from one bedroom flats to four bedroom (and a few larger) houses. Despite the harsh economic climate, Russet built 207 new homes for local families during the past year, including developments with new Local Authority partners in Maidstone, Medway, Gravesend and Dartford. There is also a substantial stock investment programme anticipated as part of the 30 year financial plan.

We are run by a Board of 12 unpaid volunteers comprising four tenants, who are directly elected by all tenants every three years, and eight community members with particular business, professional or social skills. 

Russet joined Circle Anglia in 2007, following a period of consultation with residents, staff and partners.
